Petrified Hammer Replica

Petrified Hammer "London Artifact" Replica

Special Order Only

$42.00 each

Description:

This replica is 7.25" wide x 6.5" long x 2.5" tall.

The London Artifact was found near London, Texas in Kimball County. The site is part of a large geographical zone called the Edwards Plateau. In June of 1934, Max Hahn discovered a rock, sitting loose on a rock ledge beside a waterfall outside London, Texas. Noticing that this weathered rock had wood protruding from it, he and family members cracked it open with a hammer and chisel, exposing the hammerhead to the light of day for the first time since the stone formed around it. To verify that the hammer was made of metal, they cut into one of the beveled sides with a file. In the resulting nick, bright, shiny iron was exposed. The bright metal in the nick is still there, with no detectable corrosion. The metal hammerhead is approximately six inches (15.24cm) long with a nominal diameter of one inch. This seems somewhat small for a gross pounding instrument, suggesting that this tool was meant for fine work or soft metal. The density of the iron in a central, cross-sectional plane shows the interior metal to be very pure, with no bubbles. Modern industry cannot consistently produce iron castings with this quality, as evidenced by test results that show bubbles and density variations that have caused pump and valve bodies to break. The handle eye is oval shaped, and roughly 1" x 1/2". The file cut made in 1934 has remained corrosion-free in the seventy-plus years since the artifact was discovered. The wooden handle appears to have been broken off, then worn smooth where it protruded from the rock concretion.

White Megalodon tooth replicaMegalodon Tooth Replica Black

Description:
6 inches long.

"Sleek, quick, massive, and with somewhere around 200 razor-sharp teeth, Carcharocles megalodon was one of the most feared predators ever to roam the seas. At 50 feet in length or more, it was longer than a school bus! Its dorsal fin (the one on its back) would have stood about six feet above the water. A tooth from megalodon could be larger than a man’s hand. With massive jaws that could open to seven feet, could have easily devoured a small fishing boat in one bite." - Dragons of the Deep by Carl Wieland.

Special Order Only

$48.00

Description:
10 inches long, by 7 inches wide, by 1/2 inch thick. Approximately 4 lbs.

This replica of the Narmer Palette or Great Hierakonpolis Palette is a reduced size replica. The actual Palette measures 25 inches tall! The two creatures with the entwined necks on the front (also notice the ropes around their necks, held by two men) are thought to represent the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt under King Narmer. King Narmer (the largest figure on the back of the Pallette) is thought by some to also be Menes— the first pharaoh of a unified Egypt. Some scholars believe that this is Noah's grandson, Mizraim.

The Narmer Palette was featured in Creation Magazine 'Mesopotamian Monsters in Paris' by Dominic Statham pp. 38-41 (Volume 34, Issue 1, January 2012).

Baryonyx Claw Replica

Replica Baryonyx Claws

$32.00

Description:
7 inches long.

In 1983, William Walker, an amateur fossil hunter, discovered a huge claw thirty miles south of London, England. Other paleontologists excited about the find went back to the place it was discovered and unearthed the partial skeleton of a new dinosaur. They named it Baryonyx. The paleontologists found that the large claw probably belonged on the thumb. Fish scales and Iguanodon bones were found in the area of the stomach and this has lead scientists to believe it ate fish. They also found it possessed a long slender snout with 96 teeth shaped like crocodile teeth, which are good for grasping and holding prey.

Phacops Trilobite Replica

Phacops Trilobite Replica

$14.00

Description:
5.25 inches long.

Trilobites of all kinds once roamed the ocean floor, had segmented bodies like a shrimp or lobster, and the ability to curl up into a ball when frightened. Some are found curled but most are found flat. This shows us that they were buried in mud slides too quickly to even curl up! A global flood is the best explanation for the death of billions of these amazing creatures. Evolutionists believe trilobites lived millions of years ago but they cannot explain how they got their incredible compound eyes with thousands of lenses in one eye.

Getting the Wilderness In You

"Getting the Wilderness in You" by Willliam (Bill) Sanderson, IIWilliam M. Sanderson II (Author)

Available both online* and in our Gift Shop

ISBN: 978-1-62230-253-6

$15.99

Description:
A soft cover novel published by Xulon Press.

Book Summary:
Rolf Skrien is perhaps one of the most knowledgeable local historians about the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness located on the U.S.-Canadian border in Minnesota. This area, known simply as the Boundary Waters, lies on the northwestern shore of Lake Superior at the beginning of the Gunflint Trail. Rolf spent a lifetime connecting people to the wilderness. His motto is to expose people to raw nature by “getting the wilderness in you,” and he has lived his life believing that “man cannot make the wilderness, but the wilderness can make the man.”
Arriving in the Gunflint Trail area in the 1940s, Rolf learned the country while he paddled many of its five thousand lakes and guided with the Indians. He originally lived on Sea Gull Lake, and started one of the first full-service canoe outfitting businesses, aptly called the Way of the Wilderness.

A popular local interest legend, Rolf was featured in the original Hamm’s Beer commercials, on outdoor calendars and magazine covers, and in other publications, but his first commitment has always been to connect his customers and friends to the wilderness.
Rolf has been a notable influence in helping to preserve the Boundary Waters, and is an important figure in the history of the Gunflint Trail. He spends his summers in Grand Marais, Minnesota and his winters in Arizona.

It has been said that a successful life is one in which knowledge and wisdom will impact generations in a positive way. As Bill Sanderson tells about his own experiences in the Boundary Waters and shares personal interviews with Rolf and others, you will learn about the people, the places, and the wilderness life on the Gunflint Trail over the past sixty years.

Anyone looking for armchair adventure or willing to travel to the Boundary Waters and experience the wilderness firsthand will find Getting the Wilderness in You full of camping advice, helpful tips, and humor.  Most important, you will be endeared to the man who offered to slip countless cans of “dehydrated water” in the packs of four generations of wilderness seekers.
