Speakers Ian Juby is the president of the International Creation Science SIG for Mensa members and the director of The Creation Science Museum of Canada. The CSMC is a traveling museum intended to minister to the spread-out, predominantly rural population of Canada. To meet the museum's need for displays, Ian started "Scientific Creations", a business that fabricates custom museum displays and models geared for other creation-based museums. Ian's main focus has been producing portable, traveling museum displays for professional presenters and museums. | ||
William Sanderson, II owns and operates Independence Financial Group, a company offering financial planning products and services. He has been in financial services for over 30 years, and provides individual financial planning, as well as financial planning through Money 101 and Asset Preservation workshops. Bill served as a seaman in the U.S. Navy for one year and was given an honorable discharge for a knee injury received prior to his service. Bill was a middle school teacher from 1983-1986 and taught in the West Clermont and Cincinnati Princeton School Districts of Ohio. As a former schoolteacher, Bill has always maintained an active interest in science. Reading, studying, and inquiring lead him to found Akron Fossils & Science Center in May of 2005. | ||
Josiah Detwiler is the Director of Operations at Akron Fossils & Science Center. Together with his administrative duties at the Science Center, Josiah has been able to employ his artistic talents in creating promotional materials for the Science Center as well as managing the organizations website. He frequently travels to area schools and churches teaching children about fossils and creation from a biblical framework. Josiah plays a key role in promoting the Science Center and its adjacent outdoor adventure land, Truassic Park, at educational conventions across the state. | ||
