| | About Cindy
Cindy Julius, our resident biologist, teaches individual and group science classes. Cindy has been a private tutor for over ten years assisting both public and privately schooled students as well as home school students. Cindy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Cleveland State University and graduated cum laude in her class. Her broad knowledge in biology has greatly impacted our Viers Ditch Research Project which she now manages. High School Biology - From a Creation Perspective |
Course Description Our High School Biology Class will meet on Thursday afternoons at the Science Center. Each class includes a dynamic lecture and lab given by Cindy. Apart from the class time at the Science Center, additional self study assignments will be given each week. Although this is a high school level course younger students are encouraged to participate if they are ready for the material (see Sibling Discount).

Class Breaks The Biology Class is 9 months long and runs September 4th through May 22nd. There will be breaks for Christmas, New Years and Easter.
Sibling Discount An additional sibling may participate in the Biology Class for free. An additional lab supply fee will be applied. | Course Details When: Thursday, 1:30-3:30 PM Duration: September 4th, 2007 through May 22nd, 2008 Cost: $450/year (includes lab supplies) Main Text: Biology for Christian Schools Bob Jones University Press Instructor is using the second edition. More recent editions are acceptable.
Supplies Needed: - Each student is responsible for obtaining their own textbook. - Two (2) notebooks; one for lecture and one for lab (Lab books will be graded). - Colored pencils (suggested)

Please call the Science Center to register for the class by August 15, 2007. A $50 non-refundable deposit is due upon enrollment and will be subtracted from the total class cost.
Payment Methods Monthly installments can be made in the amount of $50 each month. We accept, cash, check and all major credit cards.

Enhance your Biology Studies! Student Environmental Studies: Current Biology students are encouraged to participate in the Science Centers ongoing environmental studies in the Viers Ditch (located on-site). Students will be instructed in proper lab recording techniques, water quality testing, macro invertebrate identification and measurement of erosion. Supervisory support will be extended to students wishing to design their own study of the ditch for a science fair project.
Research Times Current Viers Ditch studies take place outdoors on Fridays between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Any other time slot desired will have to be scheduled with Cindy Julius, 330.665.DINO (3466). Come dressed for the weather and be prepared to get a little muddy.
Viers Ditch Study Pricing Assistance with ditch studies during normal testing times:
$1/student/hr if currently enrolled in classes at the museum $3/student/hr if not enrolled ================================= $17/hour for private assistance with ditch studies $10/family/hour for private assistance for two (2) or more families
