Fundraising
As a non-profit organization, we depend on the dedicated support of our community and sponsorship from individuals and local businesses. If you are interested in supporting the Science Center in a simple yet practical way, please consider donating items to our annual fundraiser on behalf of yourself, your business, or organization.

The Results

Six teams participated in our first Indoor Open putt-putt golf tournament and fundraiser. Our contestants had an enjoyable time as they competed with each other through the afternoon trying to finish the nine hole course with the fewest number of strokes.  A total of $250 was raised for three separate organizations the players donated their prize money toward!

Our first place winners were Chad and Jason (from Team 4). Their total combined score was 51 points, and they received a cash prize of $100 that they are donating to their church to help cover the cost of renting vans to go to a conference.
Team 2, Matt and Monica, came in for second place with a combined total of 52 points. They received a $75 cash prize and are donating their money to an Ozanam Center.

Our 3rd place winners were Calvin and Heather (Team 5) with a combined total score of 54 points. They will receive a $50 cash prize which they have kindly donated to our Science Center.

A special thanks goes to our staff member, Cindy, for sculpting this beautiful life-size Coelacanth fish. The fish obstacle challenged the putters with a tricky tunnel to putt through. The sculpture also challenges the theory of evolution because Coelacanths were thought to have been extinct for millions of years until scientists discovered living Coelacanths in the 1930’s and have caught several other Coelacanth fish since that time.
