Start Your Own Creation Ministry and Museum
2009 conference dates will be coming soon

You may be able to debunk evolution in a debate, but can you refer your opponent to a local museum that supports and illustrates your arguments?

Thinking of starting your own Creation Ministry or Museum?
Do you desire to enhance and build up a current Creation Ministry?

Museums add force and validity to scientific theories and worldviews. They have a powerful influence over public opinion and knowledge about the past. Creation based museums offer solid answers to visitors searching for truth in a questioning age. Learn how you can make a difference. The Creation Science Museum of Canada (CSMC) in conjunction with the Akron Fossils & Science Center (AFSC) would like to encourage Christians to become actively engaged in the origins battle.  Please join us for our second annual,
“Start Your Own Creation Museum and Ministry Conference.”

Our host, Ian Juby, director of CSMC, will walk you through the process of establishing and operating a creation museum and ministry.  Bill Sanderson (founder and owner of the Akron Fossils and Science Center) and Josiah Detwiler (operations director of AFSC) will also share their experiences and challenges in building and operating a creation science center and outdoor adventure park.

This is a conference designed specifically for entrepreneurial-minded men who are seriously considering developing influential creation ministries in their communities. The conference will take place at the Akron Fossils & Science Center. The Creation Science Museum of Canada will also have special exhibits on hand from their traveling museum (many of which are available for reproduction).

Conference Recap

Our January 18 & 19 2008 conference and workshop was well attended. Many of the attendees included past year participants with nine people that came from various parts of the US and one man coming from as far away as Hawaii!
Ian Juby did a wonderful job leading the conference and gave a great presentation that was open to the public on the Friday evening of the conference for both children and adults. On Saturday evening a special guest, Mike Liston gave a presentation on an expedition he was a part of to recover unfossilized dinosaur bones from the North Slope of Alasaka in July of 1994. Mike shared pictures and stories of the expedition and autographed copies of the book he co-authored documenting the expedition called, The Great Alaskan Dinosaur Adventure. A few of the unfossilized dinosaur bones recovered on the trip are now being displayed in the Science Center’s main exhibit area.

2008 Conference Attendees
One past conference attendee said…

“This weekend's conference at the Akron Fossils & Science Center was a gathering of dedicated creationists whose focus was creation ministry and more specifically those who are interested in starting their own creation museums, whether traveling or permanent…

The conference energized us, and what was before only a pipe dream, now sounds feasible and perhaps an appointment from the Lord.”
